About Kristin Vicari

This site is the photographic archive of Kristin Vicari: a working collection of images made across editorial commissions, advertising campaigns and personal projects, gathered year by year and arranged both as volumes of the archive and as thematic portfolio galleries. Alongside the photographs there is a small shop of print editions, each photographed, printed and shipped from the studio.

It is made for editors, art directors, picture researchers and producers who need to see a photographer's work quickly and clearly, and for anyone who would rather spend time with it slowly — collectors of the print editions, and readers who arrive through a single image and stay to look at the rest.

Originally from Louisiana, Kristin Vicari is a photographer working between the UK, France and Sicily. Her approach is natural and intuitive, with an emphasis on available light, subtle gestures and the spontaneous movements of her subjects. Rather than imposing a particular narrative, she allows moments to unfold organically, creating imagery that feels both considered and uncontrived. Working across editorial photography, advertising campaigns and personal projects, her practice is guided by an interest in people, places and the quiet details that often go unnoticed.

The archive, the writing and the sequencing are all Kristin Vicari's own work. New photographs are added as they are made, so the most recent volume is usually the fullest picture of what the studio is looking at now.
